Equipment/Machinery Needed: Ring Saw / Grinder
Introducing the next sensation in Dichroic Jewelry! Kate MacLeod will lead you through creating amazing jewelry pieces that are… wait for it… kiln formed concentric circles! Seriously? That can be done in a kiln? Here-to-fore reserved for glass blowers and torch workers, the layering of color, and not only color, but Dichroic color, in concentric circles is perfected, explained, and made simple. The handouts alone are worth a gold mine as Kate throughly explains the properties of dichroic glass with diagrams, charts and color properties. Not only that, Kate has perfected the use of Dichroic scrap! Make the most out of every square centimeter of your Dichro. This is the next big seller in Dichroic jewelry. Whether you simply tether it as a pendant, wire wrap it, or use a stunning bracelet finding, the glass process will take your work to the next level. Kate’s formulae are included in the extensive PDF’s as dichroic-cake stack charts, along with firing schedules, and a comprehensive explanation of the CBS Dichroic color bar. Are you ready to take the next step into Dichroic Jewelry? This is it, no if’s, and’s, or but’s.
This process does require a tile saw or good ring saw. A red Taurus saw will work with a super slicer blade. A kiln with at least a 6" shelf is required. Pieces are flat so a deep kiln is not required. All other processes are completed with your basic studio essentials.

Interesting technique review by Debbie on 1/8/2019
I love learning new ideas for kiln glass work. Very good insruction, step by step process. The only drawback is I don't have an xt saw to cut them. They won't fit in my taurus ring saw.

I love this!! review by ! on 10/8/2018
This is one of the most fun videos I have ever watched and followed. I did not have all of the materials listed in the video so I had to switch some of the colors but everything still turned out. I always like to make the first of everything exactly like the instructions say. The next time I usually experiment. This was fun.
Kate's instructions were very clear and easy to understand. They were very easy to follow.
I could hardly believe what came out of the kiln when the firing was finished. It looked like a real sparkly geode. I think the hardest part was convincing myself to cut it. I was able to get 5 slices out of it -
Very Motivating, Expensive if you don't have the Revolution XT review by constance on 10/1/2018
I love Kate's work: unique and beautiful. Her video is well organized. Breaking it up into chapters makes it super easy to go back and review. Her handouts are clear, well organized and complete. II enjoyed it enough to make 5 projects, but so far with my MK tile saw & diamond blade, I haven't been able to cut more than 3 pieces from a hemisphere. Due to unexpected breakage, I've only gotten 2 circles a couple times, rather than Kate's 5, making my pieces much more expensive than hers. And yes, mine being not nearly as pretty, would not sell for the price of the materials. If you do have the Rev XT, go for it!!!

I recommend this video! review by Sue Pippenger on 9/29/2018
I’m always looking for tutorials that give me a new perspective on glass...this one did so in several ways. It is full of “who woulda thunk” moments, such as how slicing into glass can literally shift how you look at shapes, colors and shimmer. I was delighted by the pieces I was able to create. Even the pieces that didn’t turn out as expected were lovely, intriguing surprises. Kate provides clear steps and useful tips throughout the video...it was a joy to learn with this master glasswoman!

Couldn't wait to get started! review by Marian Pyron on 9/19/2018
This technique is so different from anything else out there and so much fun! PLUS I love it when you can use what you learn in one technique in a new one!! Hint, hint......Kate's next video uses the same mold as in this technique plus pieces you make here you can incorporate in your meteor pieces! That's what makes this such a great value.

Amazing Technique review by Wild Child on 12/9/2017
Well done, AAE and Kate! There are so many possibilities for this technique besides jewelry, but I will begin with a few pieces for my picky self. Can't wait to get my supplies. Loved the diversity of each piece. Another sleepless night spent dreaming about new projects. Thanks so much for making it so easy and affordable to learn new tricks.
