Kiln Size Needed:  10" x 10"

Equipment/Machinery Needed:  Wet Belt Sander or Lap Wheel (Optional)

The wait is over!

Born of a distant star, hurled through space by unknown forces, Kate Rocks! capture nebulae and deliver them to Earth in the form of pure visual intrigue captured in glass.  Kate MacLeod’s imagination, coupled with a bit of savant, brings this vision to life. And now, after years of secreting her methods to create Kate Rocks! AAE Glass reveals her techniques through this video at long last!

From creating the original rock-like cast, to the finishing touches, Kate invites you to explore easy yet effective methods to cast with dichroic glass, dichroic extract, glow power, frit and billet. Yes there are methods to get it all just right!   This video takes you through all the basics, plus expanded demonstration of the advanced techniques to create multi-level rock formations.  Fear not, as each process is broken down into understandable segments, then combined for masterful effect.  No specialty equipment or kilns are needed.  No saws, no lap wheels, no wet belt sanders...none of those machines are needed.  Detailed handouts are provided with firing schedules, diagrams, material information sheets and more (located in "my PDFs" in your dashboard.)  In addition, you can do this technique in most sized kilns!  A 6" deep kiln is all you need along with a shelf at least 10" in size.  This amazing technique will take your glass to another level.  You will astound your customers with this technique and impress art galleries & venues with this cutting edge work.  Or, just give one for a fabulous gift!
